Ayan Sen, is a practicing Architect and Urban Designer based in Kolkata. He graduated from CEPT, Ahmedabad, and holds a Master’s degree in Urban Design from MIT, USA. He amalgamates theoretical acumen with extensive practical expertise in his diverse portfolio of projects spanning the U.S. and India. The firm’s design language synthesizes modernized colonial aesthetics with contemporary tropical expressions, accentuat- ing Kolkata’s local environment. Ayan Sen is an adjunct faculty at CEPT, Ahmedabad teaching Urban Conservation & Sustaina- ble Revitalization and has held visiting positions at ESSEC Singapore, IIT Kharagpur and Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies. Among his accolades, Ayan Sen Architects Urban Designers and Planners won the 2024 Economic Times DesignScape Award. Ayan Sen is a Core Committee member of the National Council of IUDI and member of IIA, contributing to professional panels globally.
